About the artists:

In the spatial works by Peter Riss (Kaufbeuren, 1962) nature upsets the culturally constructed order. Smooth, shiny surfaces hint at influences of cubism and minimalism and give a feeling of modernist proficiency. However, the apparent orderliness is disrupted by organic, raw shapes and textures.

The marble sculptures by Kim De Ruysscher (Wilrijk, 1973) are made by hand. It is a precise, costly and time-consuming process and this contrasts sharply with the everyday objects the artworks represent. The sculptures seem to be the product of calculated perfection, that seems to emphasize the banality of the everyday life.

Through his life and work Jasper Griepink (Eindhoven, 1988) wants to re-establish a lost connection between body and nature. In his short stories and interactive performances he explores the fears, desires, and fantasies accompanying this search. / As an artist Anna Lange is always exploring new horizons. She finds new perspectives by initiating a wide variety of projects and interdisciplinary collaborations. Through the composition of recognizable components the installation is able to evoke memories of the beholder, but at the same time it is able to revive stories from the artist’s past.

 Mathieu Ficheroux (1926 - 2003, Rotterdam) is one of the most important Dutch visual artists of the second half of the twentieth century. He earned a reputation in the sixties with his abstract expressionist paintings, plastic objects and light reliefs (‘sleeping pieces’), in which eroticism and alienation were important themes.
